
DBT Skills Group
A structured and supportive environment where individuals can learn and practice essential coping strategies. These groups focus on mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, helping participants better manage their emotions and improve their relationships.
DBT Skills Groups are educational training sessions covering Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Each session follows a structured agenda, introducing new concepts weekly with assigned homework for skills practice. The primary goal is to teach effective skills for emotional regulation, altering negative thought and behavior patterns, enhancing relationship skills, and fostering the life you aspire to create.
Weekly Group
Classes are held weekly on Tuesdays, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., for 24 weeks.
Cost
The cost to attend each group is $50, which can be paid weekly, or in advance.
Class Size
Our adult classes generally consist of 8 participants.

Mindfulness
The six mindfulness skills in DBT include observing, describing, participating, maintaining a non-judgmental stance, practicing one-mindfully, and focusing on effectiveness. The objective of mindfulness is to integrate these skills into daily life consistently, extending beyond meditation sessions.

Emotion Regulation
Emotion Regulation, a component of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, educates on understanding the mechanics of emotions. It imparts skills to navigate and control emotions, diminishing susceptibility to negative feelings while fostering positive emotional experiences.

Interpersonal Effectiveness
Interpersonal effectiveness involves three key goals: achieving objectives, building effective relationships, and maintaining self-respect. It recognizes the need to adapt strategies based on different challenges in various situations, with a focus on tangible outcomes when necessary.

Distress Tolerance
Distress tolerance skills are designed to aid in acknowledging and embracing challenging realities, especially when faced with intense urges to engage in unproductive behavior. This approach employs various strategies to enhance the manageability of stressful situations.
